I love 'zines. They come straight from the soul of the author, no editor in the way, and "published" by the means at hand. Last Tuesday Daniel Pelissier launched the 3rd issue in a series of zines,
Young Healers, showcasing photographers in black & white xeroxed DIY awesomeness. Young Hearts Fail by
Nina Hartmann is the photographic equivalent of a pickpocket - the images give you the impression that the artist has her camera around her neck 24/7 waiting for that lucky strike, swiping moments effortlessly and slipping them into her back pocket,
thank you very much. Turning the mundane into a quiet surprise, she seems to be channeling nonchalance in how "this happened to be there" or "they were just doing this", and that you're the peeping tom in these windows of opportunity.
